Good morning and welcome back to today’s edition of The Wolf’s Den — and first, I want to wish a very happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and grandmothers out there who make our families and communities stronger every single day. Politics can feel overwhelming, but days like today remind us why this work matters: building a country where families can live with dignity, stability, safety, and opportunity.
Thank you for all that you do for us.
Let’s dive into the news.
Donald Trump and his administration are now running into headfirst dangerous headwinds right now because of their own actions. For well over a month now, the Trump Administration has been telling us that cheaper gas was right around the corner. Well, today, that bubble popped.
This morning, Energy Secretary Chris Wright went on MSNBC and refused to say whether gas prices would fall below $3 a gallon ahead of the summer travel season. That matters because not long ago, he was far more optimistic. He suggested there was a “very good chance” prices would come down before summer. Now, with summer fast approaching, the administration is suddenly much less confident.
I will break it all down for you below.
